Official: Isack Hadjar signs with Racing Bulls and completes 2025 grid

The Frenchman will make his official debut in the top flight alongside Yuki Tsunoda

The 2025 grid is officially full. After the announcement of Liam Lawson’s promotion to Red Bull, the name of his replacement in Racing Bulls was also released: Isack Hadjar will sit at the wheel of the next car from Faenza, thus forming the first line up in the history of the team solely by pilots born in the twenty-first century. His future teammate, Yuki Tsunoda, is in fact born in 2000, while the Frenchman was born four years later. The youth program of the Milton Keynes team can therefore smile at the arrival of two of its “products” within next year’s lineup.

Born on 28 September 2004 in , Hadjar boasts in his CV a fourth and second place overall, respectively in Formula 3 and Formula 2, obtained in 2022 and 2024, always at the wheel of the Hitech team. Over the last two seasons, he has also had the opportunity to take to the track for four FP1 sessions, but only in one of these, the first in Mexico last year, did he take to the track with the colors of his future team, still under the old Alpha Tauri sign. In 2025, the French-Algerian will meet his peer and great F2 rival Gabriel Bortoleto, who also rose to the top flight thanks to Sauber.

With Hadjar having finally settled in Racing Bulls, there are eight pairs that have changed completely or partially compared to the start of last season. A similar figure has not been seen since 2019, when only Mercedes and Haas confirmed their 2018 lineups. Instead, there will be 6 “new” faces, including rookies, such as Isack himself, the aforementioned Bortoleto and Andrea Kimi Antonelli, and drivers with at least one Formula One race already under his belt, namely Lawson, Oliver Bearman and Jack Doohan. A real changing of the guard, if we consider that none of these kids were born before 2002.

These are the words of Hadjar: “I am very excited to start in VCARB. This represents a huge achievement for me, for my family and for all the people who believed in me from the beginning. The journey from karting through the lower categories to Formula 1 is the moment I have been working towards all my life. I am ready to work hard and give my best for the team. I look forward to working and learning from Yuki. I’ve always admired him – he came through the Red Bull Junior Program like me and we shared a similar path to F1. He has a lot of experience and is a great source to learn from.”

Laurent MekiesTeam Principal: “We are thrilled to have Isack with us next year alongside Yuki. His path to Formula 1 was extraordinary: he showed remarkable growth, with a series of impressive results in the lower single-seater categories. He has the talent and determination to compete at the highest level and we are fully confident that he will adapt quickly. I think Isack and Yuki will make a great team. Yuki has significant experience and has demonstrated maturity, which will be key to achieving all our goals in 2025.”

Peter BayerCEO of Visa Cash App Racing Bulls: “First of all, we must congratulate Liam on his move to Red Bull Racing. As a junior team, our strategic goal is to nurture and develop our drivers in preparation for this step. With this move and Isack’s entry into VCARB, we demonstrate our commitment to developing the best young drivers in motorsport, as well as the validity of the Red Bull Junior Program concept.”
