Alfa Romeo and the State Police consolidate their collaboration with the supply of 200 Alfa Romeo Stelvio in white-blue livery, intended for the Traffic Police. The first 70 examples have been delivered, with completion of supply expected by the end of the year. This lot adds to the 850 Alfa Romeo Tonale already in service, with another 350 units on the way. The Stelvio, the first Alfa Romeo SUV to enter the Polstrada fleet, joins the iconic “Pantere”, historic police cars. The diversification of vehicles allows for greater versatility and comfort for staff during extended shifts on Italian motorways.
All Alfa Romeo Stelvios in white-blue livery are equipped with a 210 horsepower 2.2 diesel engine
The new Alfa Romeo Stelvios intended for the Traffic Police are equipped with a 210 horsepower 2.2 diesel engine, 8-speed automatic transmission and Q4 all-wheel drive. They have a specific set-up, with a white-blue livery, light devices and a variable message panel. The interiors are modified to contain equipment, reducing the seats to four. The model, a symbol of Italian design, offers high-class performance, with an optimal weight balance and advanced technologies, combining sportiness and functionality for Police.
For over seventy years, the State Police has used Alfa Romeo cars to guarantee the safety of citizens. The first “Pantera” was a 1952 Alfa Romeo 1900, followed by the Giulietta TI and the Giulia 1600, an icon of the Police in the 1960s. In the following years, various Alfa Romeo models enriched the police car fleet, including the Alfetta, the Nuova Giulietta, the Alfasud, the 33, the 156, and the 159. Today, the baton passes to the Alfa Romeo Stelvio, the brand’s first SUV, which continues to excite generations of motorists, keeping the tradition of the Italian “Panthers” alive.
