The very young New Zealand driver assured that he was “excited to work alongside Max and learn from a world champion”. CEO Horner was also satisfied: “His arrival continues the team’s long history of promotion within the Red Bull Junior Program.”

‘s new teammate was announced this morning Max Verstappen at the Red Bull. In fact, the very young New Zealander will replace Checo Perez Liam Lawson just 22 years old. The Austrian team itself made this known in a press release. Lawson joined the Red Bull program in 2019 and made his Formula 1 debut with Alpha Tauri at the 2023 Dutch GP.

“Liam’s performances over the course of his two spells with Visa Cash App Racing Bulls have demonstrated that he is not only capable of delivering good results, but he is also a real pilot. His arrival continues the team’s long history of promotion within the Red Bull Junior Program and follows in the footsteps of drivers who have won championships and grand prix such as Sebastian Vettel and, of course, Max Verstappen“, underlined Christian Horner, director and CEO of Red Bull Racing.

The person concerned, for his part, admitted that “being announced as a driver for Oracle Red Bull Racing is a lifelong dream, something I’ve wanted and worked towards since I was eight. It’s been an incredible journey so far. I’m excited to work alongside Max and learn from a world champion. I can’t wait to get started.”
