The sporting director speaks reiterating the concepts expressed by Ranieri on the eve of the Italian Cup match
Ghisolfi is exposed on the possible sale of Dybalawrites Matteo Cirulli on Time. After the statements of Ranieri on the eve of the Italian Cup match against Sampdoria (“I’m happy to have him, but if the boy has other priorities and we find a mutual solution it’s right to please him“), the head of the technical area returned to the topic, reiterating the concepts expressed by the Giallorossi coach.
“This is the beginning of the market and the rumors– he stated before the match to Sport Mediaset – we know Dybala’s importance for the team and his love for Roma. If something comes, we will listen, but Paulo is very important to us. For the moment there hasn’t been no contact with another club”.
The rumors about a possible transfer of the world champion to Galatasaray they intensified last Monday, following the presence of his agent, Carlos Novel, inside the Istanbul stadium to watch the match between Galatasaray and Trazbonspor.
The possible transfer of the Argentine (close to the automatic renewal of the contract expiring on June 30th and yesterday on the bench for the whole match) was not the only issue addressed by Ghisolfi. The former Nice sporting director also discussed, more generally, the winter transfer market that Roma will have to face, describing it as an opportunity to strengthen the squad, move up the rankings and advance in the cups: “I’ve already said it, we want to improve the team in 2-3 positions, but, as Ranieri also reiterated, we don’t want to act just for the sake of it. We need to make sure that whoever arrives can improve the team in terms of mentality and quality.”.
