First half
The team of Claudio Ranieri started very strong, immediately demonstrating its technical and tactical superiority. Artem Dovbyk he was the great protagonist, scoring a brace in the first twenty minutes: al 9′deflected a precise assist from Saelemaekers into the net with a lucky touch of his heel; then to Al 19′taking advantage of a clumsy own goal from the Sampdoria defense to push the ball into the net. In just 25 minutes, Roma secured the result, playing a fluid game and making the most of Samp’s defensive uncertainties.
Second half: Sampdoria’s reaction and the final seal
In the second half, Sampdoria showed greater liveliness, thanks to the tactical changes made by Leonardo Sempliciwho recently took over as coach. The Blucerchiati have closed the gap in the 61st minute with Yepesgood at exploiting a moment of distraction from the Roma defence. This goal initially revived the visitors’ hopes, but the Rome managed to react promptlyavoiding further risks. The fourth goal came in the final minutes thanks to Shomurodov, who entered a few seconds ago and immediately scored with a header from Angelino’s cross. The 4-1 definitively closed the match, confirming the superiority of the Giallorossi. There Roma showed his offensive potential and the ability to manage moments of the match, even if the defensive phase in the second half left some questions. Sampdoria, despite the deficit, showed signs of growth in the second half, but was never able to really question the result. Now the Giallorossi are preparing for the quarter-finals, where they will face Milan in a challenge that promises spectacle and high intensity.
