The Mexican driver says goodbye to Red Bull after 4 years in which he contested 90 races in F1 with 5 successes
Sergio Perez leaves Red Bull. After 4 seasons the Mexican driver has reached a separation agreement with his F1 team.
Sergio «Checo» Perez had joined Oracle Red Bull Racing, with which he contested 90 races, in 2021. With Red Bull the Mexican driver experienced the most successful period of his 13 years in Formula One. Especially for his five victories, including one in the Monaco Grand Prix and a couple of victories in the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. Checo then helped Christian Horner’s team win two Constructors’ titlesin 2022 and 2023. Last year, thanks to Perez’s second place, Red Bull also achieved the first double in the drivers’ standings in its history.
«I am incredibly grateful for the last four years with Red Bull – declared Perez – and for the opportunity to race with a extraordinary team. I will forever cherish the successes we achieved together. We’ve broken records, achieved remarkable goals, and I’ve had the privilege of meeting so many incredible people along the way.
It was also an honor to race alongside Max (Verstappen) as a teammate all these years and share our successes with him.”
