James Gunn has released a Superman teaser ahead of the trailer which will be published tomorrow at 3.00 pm, Italian time; and although it is a video of just thirty seconds, it provides some important insights into the film and its imagery.
The message that passes through the short sequences is that “look up” at the base of theimmagine teaser which Gunn revealed on social media a couple of days ago, confirming the rumors circulating around the debut of the first trailer.
So let’s see several people looking up at the sky because there’s someone flying, and obviously it’s not something you see every day. The same happens at the Daily Planet editorial team, with Rachel Brosnahan’s Lois Lane in the front row.
Superman is also glimpsedof course, albeit for a few moments: first we see him speeding through the snow of the place where his fortress is probably located, then as he breaks the sound barrier by projecting himself towards the sky.
The dawn of a new universe
As we have already had the opportunity to explain when reporting the rumors on the publication date of the first trailer for Superman, the film directed by James Gunn it effectively marks the beginning of the new DC Universealthough it was actually the animated series Creature Commandos that started the project.
There are still many unknowns relating to the ambitious plan studied by James Gunn and Peter Safran, which will be divided into chapters (the first will be called “Gods and Monsters”) and will gradually introduce the various DC characters in their renewed film version.
