The road to the Frecciarossa Italian Cup stops in the round of 16 for Cagliari, defeated 4-0 by Juventus at the Allianz Stadium. A heavy result in the score but which does not fully reflect the commitment of the rossoblù, capable of starting with courage and putting the home team in difficulty especially in the first 45 minutes. However, Nicola’s team lost ground as the minutes passed, paying dearly for the cynicism of Juventus, who closed the match in the second half.
CAGLIARI NICE, VLAHOVIC UNBLOCKS IT
The rossoblù take to the field without fear. In the first minute, it’s already an opportunity: Zortea finds Lapadula free in the area, but the number 9 is blocked by Di Gregorio. Cagliari shows personality, especially in the early stages, with Augello and Gaetano proactive on the flanks and an attentive defense on Vlahovic and his teammates. Juventus, however, grows as the minutes pass: Conceicao always targets the opponent on the Juventus right, Scuffet saves on the Portuguese. Cagliari tries to react, but Juve is cynical. In the 43rd minute, Yildiz serves Vlahovic in the area: the Serbian attacker defends the ball, turns and finishes like a champion. The ball goes past Scuffet. It’s 1-0 for Juventus at half-time.
JUVENTUS VICTORY
The second half begins with a more aggressive Juventus. In the 53rd minute the second goal arrived: a powerful and precise free kick from Koopmeiners, who did not forgive Scuffet. Cagliari didn’t give up and tried to push with Felici and Piccoli, who came in to give new energy to the attack together with Pavoletti. The best chance came in the 76th minute, when Piccoli headed a cross from the left but missed the target. Juve is ruthless on the restart and in the 80th minute they score a hat trick: Conceicao, served on the right, beats Scuffet with an angled diagonal. In the 89th minute the final poker arrives: Nico Gonzalez does it all alone, takes the ball and beats Scuffet with a lifted spoon. The last shot is from Prati, who finds Di Gregorio again.
