Macaulay Culkin recently shared a behind-the-scenes anecdote from the film that made his experience even more memorable. During a Q&A with fans, he recalled an episode where Joe Pesci, who played the villain Harry, went too far during rehearsals. “He was trying to scare me,” Culkin explained. “He wanted to be threatening, but maybe he took his role too seriously, because he actually bit my finger during one scene.” Culkin showed off a scar as evidence of that unusual incident. “I’ve never seen Joe Pesci scared in my life. He’s like, ‘I just bit a baby!’” This little incident made the final scene, in which Harry and Marv capture Kevin, even more memorable, with Roberts Blossom stepping in to save the young McCallister.

Culkin’s reaction

Culkin admitted that he was very angry about the episode. “I didn’t care how many Oscars he won or anything, but I didn’t want him to bite a nine-year-old,” he said. “It was a crazy thing to do.” The actor also recounted another hilarious moment from that day, when he was hung from a door while filming the same scene. “I was like, ‘What are you doing?’ I felt like they were treating a child badly,” he joked. “Luckily, Marley (played by Roberts Blossom) arrived in time to save the day with a shovel!”
