The project for this DECI reserve came from a reflection by the municipal council following a request from the Selo for the protection of the Sainte-Eulalie European Bison Reserve, the protection of the forest heritage, the installations municipal and residential areas.
This €30,560 project excluding tax was financed to the tune of €10,910 by the Department, €7,000 by the community of communes of Terres d'Apcher Margeride Aubrac, and the rest by the municipality. “This DECI is a new skill that has been incumbent on mayors since 2015. This skill consists of guaranteeing that all water points listed in the municipality are functioning properly, that fire hydrants are functioning properly, and that they produce drinking water.explained Éric Trocellier, Satep technician. Currently, there have been eight DECIs carried out in Lozère since 2020. On Margeride, we note: Saint-Denis-en-Margeride, Blavignac, Le Malzieu-Forain, Severette (aspiration point in Truyère) and the planned Saint- Peter the Elder.”

“This reserve is very important, because in Lozère we sometimes lack fire water points, and if there was a house or forest fire, this will allow the machines to come and get supplies. This DECI has a capacity of 120 m3 and we load 2 m3 on a fire van”noted Colonel Doury.
