This was a new feature announced for iOS 18, but it did not appear with the final version of the system: the Home application will support robot vacuum cleaners, through Matter. This new feature will finally be deployed with iOS 18.3, the first beta of which was released this evening.
It was Aaron who noticed on X, iOS 18.3 clearly refers to robot vacuum cleaners. On the Apple website, the function is clearly announced for a future update, before the end of the year. The announced date is probably optimistic, that said: the final version of iOS 18.3 should not arrive before 2025. It should be noted that even if the new feature will go through the Home application, it is in fact based on the Matter standard . You therefore need a robot vacuum cleaner compatible with the standard, such as the K10+ from SwichtBot. Please note, some models are directly Wi-Fi compatible with Matter, while others (like the K10+) require an intermediate box.
