Each year Blizzard Entertainment offers more or less exceptional events in each of its games dedicated to certain major, very real popular holidays. On Diablo IV, this time players will have the opportunity to discover a new event, the “Massacre in the Underworld“. But don’t take its name too seriously: it is indeed an event dedicated to the celebration of Christmas, and who says “Christmas” also says “gifts” galore… with a few conditions. all the same!
What rewards for the Diablo 4 Underworld Massacre event?
On the occasion of the end-of-year holidays, and especially Christmas honestly, Blizzard is offering this year access to a brand new event called “Massacre in the Underworld”. A priori far from recalling the spirit of the famous festival, this event will put the spotlight, for once, on the Treasure Gobelins who will generally only be intended to serve as vast punching bags for the players before offering multitudes of rewards once massacred. As sympathetic as cruel, we agree!
Throughout the duration of the Massacre in the Underworld you will have the opportunity to defeat a certain number of Treasure Goblins in exchange for great rewards depending on the level reached. In total, five tiers are available:
Tier 1 – Goblin Satchel
Condition : Kill 5,000,000 goblins anywhere in Sanctuary
Rewards:
- Legendary Weapon Cache (includes 3 ancient legendary items with a guaranteed superior affix)
- 1 Legendary Rune et 2 Random Runes (if you purchased the Vessel of Hatred expansion)
- Random Shallows Tribute (if you purchased the Vessel of Hatred expansion)
Tier 2 – Goblin Satchel
Condition : Have killed 10,000,000 goblins anywhere in Sanctuary
Rewards:
- Cache of unique and legendary weapons (includes 1 unique ancestral item and 3 legendary ancestral items, all with a guaranteed superior affix)
- 1 Legendary Rune et 3 Random Runes (if you purchased the Vessel of Hatred expansion)
- Random Shallows Tribute (if you purchased the Vessel of Hatred expansion)
Tier 3 – Large Goblin Satchel
Condition : Kill 15,000,000 goblins anywhere in Sanctuary
Rewards:
- Fruits of the Harvest Mount Trophy
- Unique Weapon Cache (includes 3 Ancient Legendary items and 2 Ancient Unique items, all with a guaranteed Greater Affix)
- 2 Legendary Runes et 3 Random Runes (if you purchased the Vessel of Hatred expansion)
- 5 Tributes of the Radiance of the Shallows (solidarity) (if you purchased the Vessel of Hatred expansion)
Tier 4 – Great Goblin Strap
Condition : Kill 25,000,000 goblins anywhere in Sanctuary
Rewards:
- Harvest Mare Totem Mount Trophy
- 3 unique ancestral objects (all with a guaranteed superior affix)
- 3 Legendary Runes et 2 Runes Rares et 1 Random Rune (if you purchased the Vessel of Hatred expansion)
- Of the Citadel Coins (if you purchased the Vessel of Hatred expansion)
Tier 5 – Mythical Goblin Satchel
Condition : Kill 40,000,000 goblins anywhere in Sanctuary
Rewards:
- 1 Sublimated sparkle
- Mount armor Harvest Mare Bard
- 3 unique ancestral objects8 ancient legendary items (all with a guaranteed superior affix)
- 5 Legendary runes2 Runes Rares et 1 Random Rune (if you purchased the Vessel of Hatred expansion)
- 5 Tributes of Radiance (solidarity) (if you purchased the Vessel of Hatred expansion)
- 20 000 Citadel Coins (if you purchased the Vessel of Hatred expansion)
Diablo 4 Underworld Massacre Event Release Date
Prepare yourselves: the Massacre of Hell will be deployed from Tuesday December 17, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. (Paris time) and will last until Thursday January 2, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. (Paris time). You have a little over two weeks to enjoy the somewhat special festivities planned for Diablo IV, enough to get your hands on some rather original cosmetics but also win equipment to take advantage of Season 6 if you haven’t already settled his score again!
At the same time, be aware that during this same period the Mother’s Blessing will make its comeback in Sanctuary and will allow players to receive additional experience and gold, including on seasonal kingdoms. This bonus is naturally cumulative and multiplicative, it’s a good time to farm and/or create a new character!
This is a great way to enjoy the end-of-year holidays if you are lucky enough to have a few days off during this period. Let the massacre continue in the Sanctuary!
