Ban on Crit'Air 3 vehicles in Greater Paris on January 1: who will be entitled to an exemption?

From January 1, 2025, the Greater Metropolis will move to the third stage of the Low Emissions-Mobility Zone (ZFEm). Crit'Air 3 vehicles, old diesels over 14 years old and gasoline over 19 years old stamped with an orange sticker, will theoretically be prohibited from circulation on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. within the area delimited by the A86.

As automatic checks are not yet possible, metropolitan elected officials have decided that 2025 will be a year intended to educate around this measure.

In all cases, exceptions will be possible. A list of 22 categories was drawn up. Among the latter, several professional categories are concerned: dump truck drivers, itinerant traders who do the markets, professions which use insulated vehicles, companies dedicated to help and support services but also workers with staggered hours . For social reasons, individuals who go to their place of learning, training or for compulsory activities linked to RSA may also request an exemption. Just like people who are affected by a long-term condition.

Please note, all these exemptions must be requested on the platform opened at the beginning of January by the MGP. And several supporting documents must be provided depending on the case.
