Lazio-Inter, the parents of Flavio and Francesco, twins who died a month apart, on the pitch at the Olimpico

Lazio has never abandoned the Rosci family. The parents of the twins Flavio and Francesco (25 years old), Biancocelesti fans who died respectively on 31 October and 6 December after a long battle with Batten disease (rare neurodegenerative disease), are guests at the Olimpico of Claudio Lotito’s club to attend at the big match against Inter.

Marco Baroni and Simone Inzaghi they hugged their parents and gave them two shirts just before kick-off. The Lazio curve also wanted to remember the boys: “Flavio and Francesco, angels among eagles”, reads a banner. Flavio died on October 31stbefore the match that Lazio won against Como (5-1), complete with a dedication from Baroni: «I want to offer my condolences to the family for one of our fans, Flavio Rosci, who was always with us. I wanted to dedicate this victory to him”, his words.

A little more than a month later Francesco didn’t make it either: «Our dear sweet love Francesco has left us to go and recover with all his strength that half of his heart that he had lost and which he has now reached and recovered. Dear love, we can only hope now with all our hearts, even if devastated by excruciating pain, to know you close to your Flavio, laughing and telling you those things incomprehensible to us but which only you two understood. Only this can console us. We loved you immensely Franci, very much. Run to Flavio, great love. Run to him”, the memory of mother Paola.

In recent days, Roma fans have also remembered the two boys because in tragedies like these there is no division that holds. Flavio and Francesco were always present at Lazio’s pre-season training camps. Furthermore, often guests in Formello, they took part in the many events organized by the Biancoceleste club. Who has never had a season ticket for his family, as demonstrated by the invitation to the Olimpico for the match against Inter.
