As YouTube TV prepares to drastically increase its prices in January 2025, some users have found a clever method to extend the deadline. We explain everything to you.
Unless you have a VPN, you don’t necessarily know YouTube TV. For good reason, the service is currently only available in the United States. Concretely, what is it used for? YouTube TV is a TV streaming service that includes live TV with over 100 regional terrestrial, cable and sports channels.
Subscribers can thus access many American channels such as CBS, ABC, NBC or even ESPN, AMC or Comedy Central and Nickelodeon to name a few. It is also possible to subscribe to additional premium channels, such as Showtime or NBA League Pass for example.

YouTube TV prices will rise
In Uncle Sam’s Land, many users are starting to grimace. The reason is the price increases announced by Google. From January 13, 2025, the cost of the monthly plan will increase by 10 dollars to reach the $82.99 per month!
Inevitably, some are seriously considering canceling their subscription. As for newcomers, this new price list is already in effect. However, as our colleagues at The Verge report, several users have found a clever (and as old as time) method to avoid this increase and maintain their current price a little longer: the threat of churn.

A tip as old as time to keep the old prices
Indeed, if you are starting the steps to end your YouTube TV offer, some users claim to have received a rather attractive offer from Google. If they decide to stay, they can keep their subscription at the old price (€72.99/month) for the next six months.
Note that the offer is not systematically displayed depending on the method chosen to unsubscribe. According to several testimonials, the safest method is to use a web browser on a PC. From there, simply go to YouTube TV Settings, search for subscription optionsthen click on Manage to start the “fake” cancellation process. Once again, Google’s commercial gesture seems to appear randomly, so don’t hesitate to restart the unsubscribe procedure until you come across it.
