Football: FIFA “The Best” awards awarded Tuesday in Doha

FIFA's “The Best” awards, notably rewarding the best men and women players of the year 2024, will be awarded on Tuesday in Doha, the International Federation announced on Monday.

Among the men, there will be eleven contenders for the best player trophy for which the Brazilian Vinicius Juniorwinner of the Champions League with Real Madridand the Spanish Rodri (Manchester City), crowned European champion with La Roja and Ballon d'Or 2024, are big favorites.

The captain of the French team Kylian Mbappé was also named.

Among the women, sixteen players will compete including the Spaniard Aitana Bonmaticrowned last year and winner of the Ballon d'Or in 2023 and 2024.

Other prizes will crown the best coaches of a women's and men's team as well as the best goalkeeper. The Marta (women) and Puskas (men) prizes will be awarded to the best goals of the year.

The winners will be chosen by a vote of supporters, media representatives, captains and coaches of the national teams.
