The large Mahorese community of Clermont-Ferrand will mobilize for the victims of Mayotte. The French archipelago in the Indian Ocean was ravaged by a cyclone which probably caused “hundreds or even thousands of deaths” according to the Prefect on site

The president of the Mahorese associations in Clermont and Auvergne worked hard all weekend for her community hit by the terrible cyclone Shido which struck the island of Mayotte This Sunday, she organized a gathering in a municipal hall in Clermont-Ferrand. Several hundred people gathered in solidarity and to exchange news of loved ones there.
An association “Solidarité Mayotte 63” will be launched to organize collections of food and hygiene products. Noukia Ahmed Atoumani also asks the Crous de Clermont-Ferrand to open an emergency unit for Mahorais students
