As previously announced, the demonstration by municipal contract teachers not selected for the civil service recruitment competition was nipped in the bud this Monday, December 16, 2024.
Having come in large numbers from the different prefectures of the country to express their displeasure before the Ministry of Labor and Civil Service with a view to demanding from the government their commitment to the public service, these teachers were prevented by the forces of the ‘order.
As they gathered in front of the said ministry, these very upset teachers were immediately blocked by police officers. A raid considered muscular, leading to the arrest of around twenty teachers.
We learned that some were even injured during this arrest, as you can see in the images.
For the moment, the municipal contract teachers not retained and arrested are taken to the Kaloum central police station for investigations.
