A new hospital to meet mental health needs
The future day hospital, which will count 20 placeswill specialize in the treatment of anxiety-depressive disorders, burn-out, addictions (alcohol and narcotics), as well as borderline disorders. This establishment, the second of its kind in the region after that of the Roanne Hospital Center, should see the light of day within 3 to 5 yearsaccording to the clinic director, Aïcha Dellaoui.
The objective is to establish it in the city center of Roanne, in order to ensure proximity to public transport and city medical services. This new space aims to stabilize patients' psychiatric disorders and support them in their social and professional reintegration. “This will make it possible to strengthen our presence in the territory and respond to the care offer defined within the framework of the PTSM (territorial mental health project)”specifies the director in the lines of Progress.
A clinic in full evolution despite reduced projects
Although this new project constitutes a major development for the establishment, the clinic has however abandoned its initial project to extend from 14 to 16 beds, announced in 2019. It therefore retains its current hospitalization capacity of 68 unitswhich displays an occupancy rate close to 100% and a constant waiting list of 10 to 20 patients. Hospitalization, which remains free and non-coercivewelcomes patients aged on average 51 years, distributed equally between men and women, for an average length of stay of 42 days.
A renewal of the medical team
To support these developments, the clinic, which is celebrating its 50 ans d’existence this year, also strengthened its medical team. Two new psychiatrists have recently joined the structure: François Noaillyarrived in February 2024, specialist in depressive disorders, and Melanie Jouakarrived in September and expert in addiction. The management wishes to recruit a third psychiatrist to complete the team.
The clinic continues to direct its treatment towards non-drug approaches, with activities such as animal mediationl’art therapythe music therapythe light therapymanual work or even discussion groups.
50 years of history and a future focused on innovation
