La Chorale Roanne Basket conceded its first home defeat of the season Tuesday evening against ADA Blois (92-97) in a late match of the 4th day of ProB. In a shock of crazy intensity, the Choraliens did not find the solution to stop the US leader Siyani Chambers (25 points and 13 assists), despite the enormous performance of the duo Tanner (27 points) – Léopold (26 points). Still deprived of Dylan Affo Mama and Donte Thomas, they lacked the physical freshness to snatch the decision at the end of the match.
And yet, the Choir entered the meeting very well. She even pushed the gap to +15 during the second quarter, electrified by the long distance skill of Shawn Tanner and the impact of Florian Léopold in the racket. But an unsporting foul called inside Roanne before half-time would revive the Blésois, who returned to -8 (50-42, 20th).
Timothé Vergiat's teammates caused turnovers, found outside skill and exploited every flaw to take the reins of the match after a third quarter won 32-19. A good passage from Antoine Diot and Michael Oguine allowed the Roannais to return to equality as money time approached, and the 5th foul from the solid Congolese interior Florent Thamba could have tipped the scales on the Loire side… But Chambers was infernal and Roanne's last possession did not allow an equalizer.
Next meeting Friday December 13 at 8 p.m. in Nantes.
