These acts of assassination, which are the result of the chaos that occurred after the fall of the Assad government and the modus operandi used by the killers, are reminiscent of the targeted assassinations of university professors and Iraqi elites by mercenary elements serving of American-Zionist Arrogance, during the occupation of Iraq by the United States.

During the occupation of Iraq, we witnessed the assassination of scientists and the liquidation of the learned elites of the Arab country by the American-Zionist axis, at the time very little was given to it. ‘attention. But a declassified US State Department document dating from 2005 brought to light details of the assassination of 730 Iraqi scientists and elites by Mossad elements and under direct US supervision.

According to the source, Mossad mercenaries active in Iraq were on a mission to assassinate nuclear and biological scientists as well as prominent university professors. At least 530 Iraqi scientists and more than 200 university professors and other elite figures were on the black and terrorist lists of the United States and the Israeli occupation regime in Iraq.

The targeted assassinations of Muslim scientists in Egypt and Iran are also an old project that dates back to the distant past.

The assassination of Iranian nuclear scientists Massoud Ali Mohammadi, Majid Shahriari, Mostafa Ahmadi Roshan, Dariush Rezainejad and Mohsen Fakhrizadeh is among those carried out openly by Israel.

Since the start of the Zionist regime’s barbaric genocidal campaign against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip in October 2023, Zionist forces have carried out numerous attacks against more than 200 educational centers and higher education establishments in the enclave. coastal besieged.

In July 2024, the United Nations announced in a report that all 19 universities in Gaza had been bombed by the Israeli army, meaning the destruction of 80% of university buildings: “This is a war on education” . He also announced the death of 103 academics in the bombings. Added to this are at least 90,000 students injured or victims of war in other ways: There are a large number of students who had been admitted to continue their studies, but today their universities are no longer just a pile of ruins.

Faced with these atrocities, the United Nations is severely criticized. The UN was not even able to stop the senseless attacks of the Zionist occupation regime against universities and scientific centers. One wonders if the Sorbonne or MIT universities had been bombed instead of those in Gaza, would the United Nations still have been watching so passively?

The criminal abuses of the Zionist Occupation regime to eliminate the scholarly elites of the Muslim world, in Iran, Iraq, Syria, Palestine, Lebanon and…, to bomb scientific centers and to carry out acts of sabotage against the industrial sites, or even destroying the scientific and industrial infrastructure of the target countries, are added to other crimes perpetrated by Israel, the aim of which is to slow down the scientific, industrial and economic progress of nations aspiring to independence, way of causing disruptions in the progress of Muslim countries. Otherwise, what is the reason for the assassination of a university professor or a country’s famous scientists?
