The Papillons de (canvases stretched on steel cables above the streets in summer, for laymen) were created in 2009 by Camille Senoble and José Puchalt, respectively president and director of the Y'a de association. art in the air. The objective is to promote popular art with the participation of professional, semi-professional and amateur artists. All ages, all schools, all styles, all expressions are open to any space for free creation.

Year after year, this pictorial festival has found its place in the long list of cultural and festive events in the town. Every summer (or almost) for fifteen years, the streets of the historic center have been illuminated with aerial works to the delight of residents and tourists.

A call for donations to find €7,500

Alas, exhibitions like Butterflies, The Pope's Bulls, Umbrellas, Attrap’art, Pixart, The color tree, Sports stars are in danger. Indeed, budgetary restrictions and rising raw material costs threaten the existence of these events.

Although the annual municipal subsidy of €50,000 has remained for several years, the Region no longer grants the usual €4,000, and no aid has been obtained from the Department for a long time. However, you should know that these activities, which are the fruit of considerable work for the common good, last six months.

Due to the explosion in material prices

The price of the materials essential for carrying out the events has increased exceptionally (the canvas went from €10 to €47, the balloons from €4.50 to €15, the umbrellas from €3.5 to €6 and the canvas deliveries by post from €7 to €15). So much so that €7,500 is currently missing. Without this money, the majority of events planned for next summer will not be able to see the light of day.

The association is therefore calling for donations to support its projects which beautify and bring art to life throughout the city, and make it shine internationally.
