A recent study carried out by the Kantar institute for La Centrale confirms that the notion of price remains a priority in the minds of used car buyers. This parameter takes on all the more importance in a context of budgetary constraints.

What was true yesterday is even more true today. According to the recent study conducted by the Kantar institute for La Centrale, the French are very attached to the notion of price when looking for a used car. 77% of the approximately 1,000 participants in the survey saw this solution as a way to limit spending.
It must be said that, according to this same survey commissioned by the infomediary, one in seven French people explain that they have an envelope of less than 20,000 euros to buy their next car. A quarter of those surveyed leave with an amount of 20,000 to 30,000 euros in mind. Barely 5% say they are ready to spend more.
Nearly half of French people (49%) would then happily opt for a new copy, compared to 44% who spontaneously turn to second-hand offers. The rest (7%) say they are open to all solutions.
Looking at the general condition
Beyond the price, motorists see in used cars an opportunity to access more high-end models for a budget similar to a new vehicle (38%). They also look for a fast delivery time (33%). But other criteria are more important to them.
According to the report published by Kantar, buyers surveyed focus on the general condition of the vehicle (62%) before taking the plunge. Mileage (49%) and fuel consumption level (47%) also play an important role in their decision making.
And when we approach the subject of consumption, the French have their preference. While hybrid engines are favored by 54% of them (including 37% who are very interested), 37% of the panel still shows an interest in electric models.
