In the second half, coach Peter Bosz made changes to try to turn things around. He brought in Joey Veerman and Richy Ledezama, but chose to keep Chucky Lozano on the bench, the circumstances of the meeting not seeming ideal for his farewell to Europe.
In the 67th minute, PSV had a crucial chance when the referee awarded a penalty in their favor. However, after a VAR review, the decision was overturned, frustrating the Dutch team’s hopes of an equalizer.
Finally, in the 73rd minute, Hirving “Chucky” Lozano entered the field to the applause of fans and gestures of support from his teammates. This match marked the Mexican striker’s farewell to European football.
