Strong expansion in the private sector
Among recent agreements, Clean Energy landed a three-year contract with DHL to fuel its CNG trucks operating in California, Texas and Arizona. Food Express, a historic customer of Clean Energy, has signed a contract for the construction of a station in California to refuel its fleet of 20 heavy trucks. This partnership provides for the supply of more than 11.35 million liters of bioNGV over ten years, and the station will also be open to other companies.
Clean Energy also strengthened its presence in the logistics sector by entering into a five-year partnership with SalSon Logistics to power its trucks for transporting goods in the Chicago area. Additionally, Estes Express Lines, the largest private freight carrier in North America, will use biogas for its trucks operating out of Fort Worth, Texas.
In the area of waste management, Clean Energy will work with Noble Environmental to build a station in Pennsylvania powered by gas from sewage sludge. The company MarBorg Industries, for its part, will use biogas for its sanitation trucks in California.
A sustainable transition for communities
Several municipalities and institutions have also extended or strengthened the use of bioNGV.
In the transit sector, LA Metro, one of the largest transit agencies in the United States, renewed its contract with Clean Energy. This new agreement will supply five stations in the Los Angeles area.
Also in California, the city of Gardena has entered into a five-year partnership for its buses, while the city of Santa Clarita will supply around a hundred buses. For its part, the University of California at San Diego has a three-year contract for its shuttles and maintenance trucks.
Clean Energy also entered into an agreement with Nassau Inter-County Express (NICE) to support the conversion of 278 buses on Long Island, New York, from CNG to bioCNG.
