This Friday, December 5, a fire broke out in a synagogue in Melbourne. The Israeli Prime Minister described this crime as “heinous”.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called Friday a crime “odious” the burning of a Melbourne synagogue, which he linked to what he says were “anti-Israeli opinions” of the Australian government.
“Unfortunately, this heinous act cannot be separated from the anti-Israeli views emanating from the Australian Labor government, including its scandalous decision to vote in favor of the UN resolution calling for a rapid end to the ‘illicit presence of Israel in the Occupied Palestinian Territory”declares Benjamin Netanyahu in a press release in reference to a resolution of the United Nations General Assembly adopted Tuesday.
Australian police announced Friday that they were searching for two individuals suspected of starting a fire in a Melbourne synagogue before dawn. The fire, which caused no injuries, broke out at 4:10 a.m. (5:10 p.m. GMT Thursday) at the Adass Israel synagogue, located in the southeastern suburbs of Melbourne, according to police.
