After the high-quality S24 and S24 Ultra (read our review of the S24 Ultra), which allowed Samsung to showcase its new Galaxy AI artificial intelligence features, the manufacturer will soon launch its S25 and S25 Ultra. When ? At what price and with what new features under the hood? Here is what we know to date about the Korean giant’s next flagships.

An imminent release date
Samsung Galaxy S25 expected to be officially revealed at a Galaxy Unpacked event in January 2025with potential marketing two weeks later (early February), according to consistent sources. Among them, recent certifications from the American FCC, which imply an imminent launch. This firing window, faithful to the brand’s usual calendar, remains consistent with the presentation dates of previous models. Samsung has anyway confirmed the arrival of its next “flagships” in the first part of 2025.
A price higher than that of the S24?
Analysts expect prices to start around $799 for the standard model, but rising production costs, including those related to the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, could lead to significant increases, especially for higher-end variants. range.
Indeed, the processor which should equip the S25 Ultra would be sold at 40 dollars more than its predecessor, according to the “leaker” Universelce.
Refined design and new colors
On the design side, the Galaxy S25 range would introduce subtle adjustments according to several leaks, notably that of the French leaker OnLeak published with Android Headlines. The Ultra model, in particular, could opt for more rounded corners and a titanium chassis, a development that aims to improve grip and lighten the weight of the device. The S25 Ultra’s screen would increase to 6.9 inches, with reduced borders, while the standard models would maintain more compact dimensions. Standard color options would include black, blue, gray and silver, with exclusive variants like Jade Green or Rose Gold available online.
From a technical point of view, Samsung would maintain the use of M13 OLED screens for most models, despite criticism of their low-intensity brightness management, a problem that the brand could correct for this new iteration.
Improved performance and artificial intelligence
The Galaxy S25 series marks a significant transition for Samsung by exclusively adopting the Snapdragon 8 Elite as its primary processor, at least in key regions. This chipset engraved in 3 nanometers promises significant performance gains in computing and graphics, while integrating advanced artificial intelligence capabilities. Furthermore, the Ultra could benefit from 16 GB of RAM, compared to 12 GB on its predecessors, thus strengthening its multitasking capabilities. The onboard software, One UI 7 based on Android 15, would (logically) introduce new AI-based features, like improved transcription tools and advanced integrations of Samsung’s Bixby voice assistant.
Photography: a focus on ultra-wide-angle
Photography remains a key area for the Galaxy S25, especially for the Ultra model (and all high-end smartphones really). According to Ice Universe, the latter would integrate a 50 megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor, a clear increase compared to the previous model. The main 200 megapixel sensor would be maintained, while a telephoto lens with variable zoom between 3x and 5x would replace the old mechanism. enough to provide more details.
The standard and Plus models, for their part, should retain configurations similar to those of the S24 generation, with no major changes announced for the moment.
Battery and charging: few changes
Despite the advances in energy efficiency promised by the Snapdragon 8 Elite, Samsung seems to be playing the card of continuity regarding battery capacity. The Ultra model would retain a capacity of 5,000 mAh and the other models would remain close to previous models. In addition, one of the main criticisms against the S24 should be relevant again this year since the new models would retain a charge of 25W for the standard model and only 45 W for the S25 Ultra according to the certification documents of the FCC.

Too bad, some models recharge much faster now. But by remaining coy on this point, Samsung is prioritizing long-term battery life over performance. The choice of caution. Samsung will also have to convince on thermal management and processor optimization, crucial criteria for intensive users and mobile game enthusiasts.
