Aimed at final year students in the STMG sector, this competition takes place in the form of a composition. For 4 hours, those involved worked on the theme of “French productivity”.
The awards ceremony this Tuesday, December 3 is the 3th edition of the “economic excellence prize” competition. A competition organized by the IEDOM, the Institut d'Emission des Départements d'Outre-Mer, Citéco and the Ministry of National Education and Youth.
Promote the STEM sector
This competition allows, on the one hand, to promote the STMG sector which sometimes suffers from a bad image, and on the other hand, to give confidence to students who follow this path.
Economics is a subject that may seem abstract to many people, but it is undeniably a subject that each of us exercises in everyday life, when we go shopping for example. .
« Honestly, we are proud of ourselves. We are also the image of the school, we are quite happy. We got rewards. And it’s really a source of pride… We didn’t expect it ».
In Mayotte, 234 students took part in this competition. A figure which makes the 3 winners even more proud, who did not expect to be among the best students on the island.
STMG students have proven once again that they are capable of producing excellent copies. The prizes awarded to them are above all symbolic. They will count in the SUP course of these students. They will allow them to approach the Baccalaureate test with peace of mind. But they also received other gifts to thank them for their participation, such as a voucher for books.
The race is not over for 1is winner
The 1is winner of the competition will have his copy transmitted at the national level, like that of all the other winners in France who participated. Copies which will subsequently be re-evaluated by another French jury to designate the 3 super winners from France. A new award to be awarded during Financial Education Week in March 2025.
