Alioune Sall, Minister of Communication, Telecommunications and Digital Affairs, announced the list of press groups officially recognized by the State of Senegal. This measure is part of the regulation of the sector, initiated by the government to clean up the media space.
According to the minister, a special commission examined the files submitted by the press companies, resulting in a validation based on the standards defined by the press code. As of November 29, 2024, 112 media outlets have been registered and found to meet the criteria.
Of the 380 press organizations registered on the platform dedicated to media reporting, only 112 have been validated.
