prices are falling towards Overseas and Asia, according to the MisterFly/L’Echo Barometer

In November, prices increased by 1.1% for all destinations combined, or at a rate comparable to inflation.

The solidarity tax increases “implemented or not yet depending on the airlines, are not yet reflected”, underlines Frédéric Pilloud, digital director of MisterFly. “Except perhaps on medium-haul. »

Medium-haul flights more expensive, long-haul stable

While they remain stable on long-haul flights (-0.2%, to 699 euros), the prices of plane tickets are increasing on domestic flights (2.2%, to 235 euros), and even more on medium-haul (+6.1%, at 293 euros).

In detail, the strongest increases concern Morocco (+8%), Italy (+11%), Tunisia (+12%), the United Kingdom (+20%), Greece (+11 % Greece), Germany (+15%).

On distant destinations, the apparent stability hides on the one hand price surges (United States +10%, Canada +11%). And on the other hand, notable declines towards Overseas ( -9%, 10%, -16%, Guadeloupe -8%). Same towards Asia (Japan -18%, Vietnam -10%).

Destination trends: Egypt rises, Ivory Coast falls

In terms of destinations, MisterFly notes a rise in Egypt (+9 places), Vietnam (+5), Germany (+4), Japan (+3). Gains partly linked to price erosion. On the other hand, Ivory Coast is losing ground (-5 places), so is Canada (-4).

“There is an effect of anticipation of purchases on departures more than six months away (+ 3 points), adds Frédéric Pilloud. This is perhaps a way of trying to avoid paying the famous solidarity tax. »

In total, the air ticketing specialist MisterFly of the Digitrips group analyzed 92,398 tickets reserved in economy class in May 2024.
