24 years later, she discovers the name of her mother's murderer. Dounia is the daughter of Laïla Afif who was killed in 2000. Her alleged murderer was indicted this Monday, December 2. He is aged around sixty and is also suspected of the murder of a 15-year-old girl in 1988.
Speaking to RTL, Dounia confides her relief: “Finally an answer, 24 years later. Justice will finally be done“. Dounia knew her mother's alleged murderer. “Unfortunately, we grew up next door. We had to meet each other, we knew each other. He scared me. Truly, I am speaking to you sincerely and I am telling you as I told the investigating judge before I knew. His look, his behavior, the fact that he followed the girls, the fact that several times he offered to take me home,” she says.
“In any case, in my perception, he scared me. Today, I tell myself that my fear was perhaps not for nothing. Compared to my mother, I am afraid of what I I'm hearing,” she continues.
It was the DNA, found at the crime scene, which made it possible to trace the trail of this possible serial killer. “Mom, luckily you fought. Mom, you did well to take this DNA from him“, says Dounia with emotion.
