Hello Medjadji and thank you for your question.
The future of Michel Barnier is suspended by motions of censure which will be put to a vote in the coming days.
A motion of censure will very soon be tabled by the president of the LFI group Mathilde Panot. It will be examined on Wednesday at the earliest. The four left-wing groups should vote for it, but also the RN, as the group confirmed during the day. With the votes of far-right deputies, the motion could collect more than 300 votes, a priori allowing its adoption, set at 288 votes. This would cause the fall of Michel Barnier's government. If it is not adopted, he should remain head of government.
The adoption of a motion of censure would be a first since the fall of the government of Georges Pompidou in 1962. The Barnier government would then become the shortest in the history of the Ve Republic.
Marine Le Pen also announced the filing of a motion of censure by the RN, but no group has yet come forward to support it.
