A motorist lost his life in a car accident on Sunday December 1, 2024 in Lée (Pyrénées-Atlantiques). He collided with a house and caused a fire. His charred body was discovered in the passenger compartment by firefighters, indicates France Bleu Béarn Bigorre . We don't know if it's a woman or a man. A tooth analysis was therefore ordered by the public prosecutor.
“She went into the wall”
According to the first elements reported by The Republic of the Pyrenees the driver apparently left the road in the early morning before crashing into the old barn converted into housing and a garage. The residents, a mother and her three children, were sleeping at the time of the accident. Awakened by the fire, they managed to escape from the flames in time.
“It was one of the children who heard the fire crackling and raised the alarm”indicated to South West the father of the owner of the accommodation. “If the car had hit the corner of the building, there wouldn't have been as much damage. But then, she entered the wall”he commented, while parts of the house collapsed onto the road.
All the racing and classic cars parked in the garage were destroyed.
