R1. Plouzané – Stade Brestois (B): 1-6
Very early in the match, Erwan Fitamant's exit outside the area was punished with an expulsion (2'). In the process, attacking midfielder Magalhaes did what he could as a makeshift goalkeeper, particularly against the top scorer in the championship. Diop opened hostilities from a corner (13') then made the break with a lob (28'). The hat-trick arrived before the break (45') but while Botz had also scored his goal to participate in the celebration (40'). The latter was excluded: he committed a foul on contact, after pushing his ball too far on an offensive (45'+2).
“A special match”
The second period had little interest, except to see the PAC save the honor thanks to Kitenge (81') but Manette ended up giving more scope to the score with two placed shots (88 ', 90+1). Defender Youen Fitamant, brother of the expelled goalkeeper, took over from Magalhaes in goal, without much more success.
Brest (B) therefore won 6-1 in a match made too easy by events. “It’s a special match with what happened with the refereeing,” noted Brest coach Franck Kerdilès. We will retain the three points even if I didn't like the goal conceded. The disappointment is above all losing Leo Botz following this red. »
