A 21-year-old moped rider died this Saturday, November 30, after being hit by a car in Morbihan. The driver fled. A suspect was arrested.
An accident cost the life of a 21-year-old man who was riding a two-wheeler this Saturday in the town of Surzur, in Morbihan. The firefighters, called around 1:30 a.m. on the night of Friday to Saturday, initially believed that the young man had slipped alone on the road.
But according to the gendarmes, the moped rider was violently hit by a vehicle. Witnesses say they saw a car fleeing the scene of the accident. In the morning, a man suspected of being the driver of the car was arrested to be questioned by the police, according to Ouest France.
The killed man, who worked in a fast-food restaurant in Vannes, was returning home after his shift. He was taken to hospital in serious condition but did not survive. He was pronounced dead during the night by the emergency doctor.
The young employee lived with his grandparents, his parents living in the Paris region, according to The Telegram.
13 firefighters, from the Surzur, Vannes and Arzon barracks, were mobilized.
