Just crowned with a fourth world champion title, Max Verstappen continues to perform. The Red Bull driver took pole position during qualifying for the Qatar Grand Prix on Saturday November 30. The Dutchman had not experienced this situation since the Austrian Grand Prix last June.

During his last lap, he stole the best time from George Russell (Mercedes). The Briton will start, like last week in Las Vegas, from the front row, just ahead of Lando Norris (McLaren) and Carlos Sainz (Ferrari). The second Ferrari of Charles Leclerc took 6th position.

Close to securing Q3, Pierre Gasly set the 11th time. Eliminated in Q1, Esteban Ocon will start from last position. The Alpines will have to get into the points (in the top 10) if they want to aim for 6th place in the manufacturers’ standings.
