A fatal countdown, but which will push them to drop everything to try to make up for lost time and ignore the weight of the years…

A tribute to Valérie Benguigui

Impeccably worn by Fabrice Luchini and Patrick Bruel, having already collaborated in P.R.O.F.S in 1985, more than 30 years before The best is yet to comethe comedy manages to hit the mark. Addressing deep subjects without ever forgetting to make us smile, this fiction remains above all marked by a drama. Shortly after receiving the César for best supporting actor for First nameValérie Benguigui was taken by cancer in 2013, at the age of 52. Enough to trouble Matthieu Delaporte and Alexandre De La Patellière, who decided to pay tribute to her with this film, as they confided to CineSeries : “Valérie’s death was a very painful event for us. The timing was strange because we were experiencing the most beautiful moment of our career, and an immense sadness. We had just turned forty, and we began to look at the future in a different way, and to ask ourselves questions about the time we had left to live, and how we should approach it. It really affected us a lot (…) we said to ourselves that we had to find a way to talk about these subjects in a bright, funny, and caring way. Comedy is a means of self-defense for us.”
