The French remain reluctant to cross a red line. Although France continues to support Ukraine diplomatically and materially, Emmanuel Macron would consider a possible sending of troops on the ground. A perspective rejected by 68% of French people, according to a CSA survey. Conversely, 31% are in favor, while 1% have no opinion. In February 2022, 70% were opposed to it, a proportion which had fallen slightly to 60% in March of the same year.

Regarding age groups, 63% of those under 35 oppose military intervention in Ukraine, with opposition of 67% among 18-24 year olds and 61% among 25-34 year olds. 35-49 year olds have a rejection rate of 68%. Those over 50 are the most hostile to this idea, with 71% opposing it, including 75% among those aged 50-64 and 68% among those aged 65 and over.

As for socio-professional categories, opinions differ slightly. The CSP+ reject the idea at 64%, with 1% undecided, while this figure rises to 73% among the CSP-. The inactive, for their part, are at an intermediate level, with 69% expressing their opposition to French military intervention in Ukraine.
Political sensitivities also influence opinions on military intervention in Ukraine. On the left, the opposition is more moderate: 57% of supporters say they are against it, with only 52% among those of the Socialist Party and 55% among Europe Écologie-Les Verts. On the other hand, France Insoumise stands out with a more pronounced opposition of 73%.

In the center, opinions are more divided, close to a balance. Among supporters of the presidential majority, 54% reject this option while 46% support it. Among supporters of the Renaissance party, the gap narrows further, with 51% opposed and 49% in favor.
On the right, opposition to military intervention is much more pronounced, reaching 61%. 63% of Republican supporters reject this idea. The nationalists display an even more massive rejection, with 86% of opponents. Among supporters of the National Rally, 84% disapprove of the intervention, compared to only 15% who support it, while 1% remains undecided.
