Baldur's Gate 3 will say goodbye in 2025 with one last big update | Xbox

More than a year after its launch in version 1.0, Baldur's Gate 3 still continues to be supported by Larian Studios. Several months after the integration of mod support, 3,000 community creations are now available in the game, for more than 70 million downloads, all media combined. Before saying goodbye to Baldur's Gate 3 for good, the developers intend to deploy one last major update in 2025.

As promised, patch 8 will mark the arrival of cross-play in Baldur's Gate 3, that is to say that you will be able to invite your friends to join your lobby directly, whatever the platform, and find multiplayer lobbies available with friends on other systems using the Larian network. Remember that the title already supports cross-saving between different platforms.

Just as anticipated by the community, Photo mode will debut when this new update is available. Absolutely all the details about the tool can be found on the article dedicated to Baldur's Gate 3 patch 8.

Completely unexpectedly, patch 8 will also introduce 12 completely new subclasses!

Bard – College of Glamour

As a Bard of the College of Glamour, you have the power to heal your allies and control your enemies. Use Mantle of Inspiration to grant 5 temporary health to your allies, and if an enemy attacks during its duration, they will be Charmed. With Mantle of Majesty, you can command Charmed enemies to flee, approach, stand still, fall to the ground, or drop their weapon.

Barbarian – Path of Giants

By choosing the Path of Giants, your newly acquired giant strength will allow you to easily throw allies and enemies. With the Giant's Rage passive, you gain strength and size, which increases your damage with throwing attacks and your carry ability.

Cleric – Death Domain

As a Cleric of the Death Domain, you master new necrotic damage spells and three new necromancy cantrips. Toll The Dead deals 1 8 damage, increasing if the target has already been damaged. You can also use a homemade ability to explode nearby corpses, damaging enemies.

Druid – Circle of Stars

Druids of the Circle of Stars draw their power from the stars, adopting one of three Starry Forms: the Archer (astral arrows dealing radiant damage), the Chalice (healing yourself and others), and the Dragon (bonus to Constitution rolls and increased damage). These shapes offer powerful and strategic options.

Paladin – Oath of the Crown

True to the principles of law, this Paladin uses abilities such as Righteous Clarity to guide his companions, Divine Allegiance to absorb damage taken by his allies while restoring their health, and strategic taunts to disrupt his enemies.

Fighter – Arcane Archer

The Fighter Arcane Archer combines magic and archery. He can banish enemies to the Feywild for a turn or deal psychic damage and blind his opponents with a magical attack that forces them to succeed on a Wisdom saving throw.

Monk – Drunken Master

The Monk Drunken Master uses alcohol to restore his Ki. He can consume bottles found around him and share the intoxication with his enemies via Intoxicating Strike, increasing his chance to hit and his Armor Class. With Sobering Realization, he deals physical and psychic damage to drunken enemies.

Ranger – Swarmkeeper

The Swarmkeeper Ranger uses three deadly swarms:

  • Cloud of Jellyfish: Lightning damage and shock potential.
  • Flurry of Moths: psychic damage and possible blindness.
  • Legion of Bees: Piercing damage and enemy knockback.

These swarms can also offer teleportation abilities.

Rogue – Swashbuckler

This Rogue offers new actions for a daring fighting style: throwing sand to blind, disarming with a weapon, or using Fancy Footwork to prevent enemies from performing attacks of opportunity after a melee.

Sorcerer – Shadow Magic

The Sorcerer Shadow Magic excels in the dark thanks to enhanced night vision (Superior Darkvision) and the ability to Shadow Walk between areas of low light. He can summon a Hound of Ill Omen and use Strength of the Grave to avoid being knocked down.

Warlock – Hexblade

The Warlock Hexblade forms a pact with an entity in the Shadowfell that takes the form of magical weapons. He can curse his enemies, killing them to summon their spirit for ten turns, dealing necrotic damage while healing himself.

Wizard – Bladesinging

The Bladesinging Wizard combines magic and swordsmanship. His Bladesong ability grants him increased speed, agility, and concentration, as well as a bonus to Constitution saving throws when casting spells in combat.

To try out all the new features mentioned, a stress test period will take place at the beginning of January on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC.

In addition to all this content, Larian Studios will be integrating a large number of bug fixes and polishing cutscenes. The studio also promises a little surprise during the month of December.
