Invited on the set of BFM Lyon on Monday, November 25, Clémence Collomb spoke about her father, Gérard Collomb, a year after the latter's death at the age of 76 following cancer at the stomach.
On November 25, 2023, Gérard Collomb died at the age of 76 from stomach cancer, leaving behind his wife Caroline Rougé, as well as five children. Clémence Collomb, first daughter he had with his last wife, was invited to the BFM Lyon set on Monday, November 25. A year after the death of Gérard Collomb, the young woman spoke about the father he was. “I think he had the right balance between being strict, especially about our academic performance”, she first declared. Before specifying: “Every evening, even when he was at the Ministry of the Interior, he asked us if we had received any notes. It was one of the last things he said to us. It was: work at school, girls.”
Beyond this requirement, Clémence Collomb explained that it “was also a very loving, very attentive dad. He always associated us with his political life”. So whenever he was traveling, Gérard Collomb always brought them a small gift. In front of the souvenir photos that passed before her eyes, the daughter of the former politician described these moments as “fond and happy memories”. It must be said that her father made sure that the moments spent with her and her little sister Camille were “qualitative”. With his two daughters, he had a ritual on Sunday. He took them to the “places that were dear to him”. Places to which Clémence Collomb likes to return today with her sister. When talking about her father, she described him as “someone very loyal, who has always remained faithful to his values and his principles”. Before continuing: “For me he had incredible political instincts.”

Gérard Collomb: who are his five children?
Gérard Collomb was the happy father of five children. With his second and last wife Caroline Rougé, he welcomed two daughters: Clémence and Camille. Before the birth of the latter, the former politician already had three children. With his first wife Geneviève Bateau, Gérard Collomb had a boy named Thomas then a daughter named Anne-Laure. Then, he welcomed another boy with his former partner Myriam. A child named Alexandre.
