The Christmas bonus will be awarded
Like every year since 1998, 2.3 million households will receive the Christmas bonus in December. This will be paid on Friday December 13. It is automatically allocated to households receiving social minima by the Family Allowance Fund (Caf) or the Agricultural Social Mutual (MSA).
According to the minister, Paul Christophe, the Christmas bonus will be identical to previous years. The allocation scale depends on the composition of the beneficiary households.

The price of general practitioner consultations increases
From Sunday December 22, the cost of the consultation with the general practitioner increases. So a visit to the general practitioner will no longer cost 26.50 euros but will increase to 30 euros. This decision follows a decree, finalized in agreement by Health Insurance and the unions of private doctors.

Salaries on the rise in the hotel and catering industry
From December, the salaries of hotel and restaurant employees will be increased at all levels. The conventional minimum will now be set at 12 euros for the first level, or 12 cents more than the minimum wage. As a reminder, the latter has been set at 11.88 euros gross per hour since November 1.
In addition, employees in the branch will be able to benefit from days of absence for sick children.
Increase in gas prices
The price of gas will also increase from December 1st. Set by the Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE), it will increase on average by 2.5% per kilowatt hour, or almost 30 cents more. You will therefore need 0.1413 euros per kilowatt hour for cooking and hot water (instead of 0.1383) and 0.1124 euros per kilowatt hour for heating (instead of paying 0.1093€/kWh).

Will there be an increase in gas taxes? The government displayed its divisions during the weekend after the declarations of the Minister of Ecology Agnès Pannier-Runacher who had mentioned on Friday the possibility of an increase through a government amendment to the draft budget.
Since the start of 2024, this is the 6th increase in the benchmark price. They are partly explained by current geopolitical tensions.

The tax administration is granting you additional time, until Wednesday December 4, to correct any error or development on your previous declaration from last spring (concerning your 2023 income). After this date, you will have to make a claim.
To pay your housing tax or tax on vacant housing, the deadlines are Monday December 16, for those who have not used an electronic payment method such as online payment. Finally, to pay your local tax, you have until December 21.
