A historic performance has just ended in the Pokémon universe. For 24 hours non-stop, thirty European content creators took turns to unbox over 1,500 Pokémon Trading Card Game booster packs. This initiative celebrated the launch of the new TCG Expansion Sparks expansion, but hid a major surprise: all cards will be redistributed to charitable associations.

A world record that exceeds expectations

The Pokémon Company International doesn't do things by halves. The company brought together content creators from across Europe to break the Guiness record for longest unboxing livestream. 6 French streamers represented for six hours straight, revealing rare cards.

Pikachu made a surprise appearance during the presentation of the official Guinness World Records certificate. Fans connected to Twitch were able to follow every moment of this performance live.

A charitable action on a European scale

The thousands of unwrapped cards will not stay in a cupboard. The Pokémon Company International has planned a massive redistribution across Europe. Cards will be meticulously organized into albums to create complete collections. These cardboard treasures will then go to charitable associations recognized as Barnardo's, KidsOut, the Fondazione Banco Alimentare Onlus, Tafel Deutschland and the Fundacion Tomillo.

An initiative that comes at the right time, just before the end of year holidays.
