Wednesday November 27, France 2 offers the first two episodes of That’s Paris! (our opinion), the new series by and with Dominique Besnehard, producer of Ten Percent. After exploring the world of agents – his former profession – this time he offers an immersion in that of cabaret. Played by Alex Lutz (recently seen in the role of Pierre Bergé in the series Becoming Karl Lagerfeld on Disney +) – and Charlotte de Turckheim (transformed for the role), this new format tells the story of the confrontation of a Parisian magazine with the realities of the contemporary world.

He is a well-known personality among fans of the Star AcademyKamel Ouali, choreographer and director of the Paradis Latin shows, who suggested the location for the filming of That’s Paris!. Questioned by Télé-Loisirs, he returns to the genesis of his collaboration: “One day, Dominique [Besnehard, ndlr] contacted me to ask me to work with him on this project. I said: “Okay, why not do it at Paradis Latin?” I then spoke to the owner, Walter Butler, they met, and voila!“. A godsend for director Marc Fitoussi who did not have to look far for his future dancers: “Most work at Paradis Latinconfirms Kamel Ouali. Some were auditioned for roles, like Nastasia Caruge, who plays Justine, who I’ve known since she was 14 and who has worked with me forever.”

The choreographer continues by explaining that, as soon as the director of That’s Paris! saw the young woman on stage, he immediately wanted to give her a casting. For his part, Dominique Besnehard, also interviewed by Télé-Loisirs, welcomes the opportunity of having been able to install his cameras in a real cabaret: “Honestly, without Walter Bultler, we wouldn’t have been able to do the show because he gave us the location. If we had to build a set in the studio, it wouldn’t have worked as well. But be careful, we are not telling the story of Paradis Latin, we are Le Tout-Paris!”, he explains.
