Seduced by the image revealed last year, have you saved up to treat yourself to a Porsche compatible with the new generation CarPlay? Your money will be sitting in the bank for a little while longer. Asked by MacRumorsthe German manufacturer said it plans to keep the current version of CarPlay at « court terme ».
While Apple still indicates on its site that the first cars compatible with the new CarPlay will be released this year, this promise seems to have faded. Among the fifteen brands (Audi, Nissan, Ford, Renault, Audi, etc.) that are expected to adopt the technology one day or another, Porsche and Aston Martin seemed best placed to cross the line first, but nothing hasn’t come since posting images showing their user interfaces.
Presented at WWDC 2022, the new generation CarPlay will allow the iPhone to display a customizable interface on all screens of compatible vehicles as well as to control the air conditioning, radio and other on-board elements.
