What is this ? This is a typical Indian dishwhich Kevin De Bruyne would love after a match. Indeed, last February, when KDV had just been elected “Etihad player of the month” for January, he answered certain questions from supporters, on video.
We then ask him what his favorite post-game meal. The 33-year-old Belgian then responds “Chicken curry vindaloo”. “It’s good and spicy”he adds.
The vindaloo chickenit is an Indian curry, typical of the Goa region, we can read on the site 196flavors. What makes it different from the usual curry is that vinegar (or wine) is used in the sauce, especially instead of coconut milk. It is actually a derivative of a Portuguese dish, called “carne de vinha d’alhos”. “Vinha de alho” actually means “garlic wine”. It is therefore a legacy of the presence of Portuguese merchants in this region of India, during the spice trade.
This dish is mainly composed of chicken, chili pepper, onion, garlic, turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, cumin, cloves and vinegar.
