Joanie Lepage, accused and detained since August 21 in connection with the murder of cryptocurrency influencer Kevin Mirshahi, would like to get out of prison.

Her lawyer, Me Patrick Davis, will present a request on December 4 at the Montreal courthouse, so that his client can obtain provisional release.

“In the event of my release, I will reside with my parents [à Les Cèdres]can we read in the document obtained by the Saint-Francois. I accept the fact that my parents, more specifically than my mother because she is retired, supervise the supervision of my conditions of my release from the Court and I am willing to respect all the rules of her house.

She also ensures her collaboration in the legal proceedings surrounding the story for which she was accused.

Faced with accomplished facts

Joanie Lepage, aged 32, is accused of the murder of Kevin Mirshahi, whose death occurred at his home located in Les Cèdres. Remember that this cryptocurrency influencer, and three other people, were kidnapped in Montreal and then sequestered.

However, the disclosure of evidence is not complete. Details of the facts were provided to the defense.

The request thus summarizes the facts recounted in the summary. The accused was allegedly approached on or around June 21 to lend her residence to individuals. She would have been faced with a fait accompli.

“Once the kidnapping of the victims is orchestrated, the victim [Joanie Lepage]presented herself at her residence and noted the commission of the offense,” we can read in the request. Ms. Lepage had, according to the document, left the residence and therefore witnessed nothing when the murder was committed.

“According to the respondent’s thesis [le ministère public]the applicant, did not directly participate in the attack. His participation would have been limited to giving access to his house to non-accused accomplices,” it is written in the request. The accused also allegedly provided various foodstuffs to the non-accused accomplices.

Her arrest allegedly occurred “without warning”, before the accused handed herself over to the authorities. However, she offered no resistance and always cooperated.

According to the available evidence, the accused does not appear to know the alleged victims before the events. Also, nothing shows that she is “of a violent temperament, or of an explosive nature, or seeks to evade justice.”

Two other arrests

In the case surrounding Kevin Mirshahi, the Sûreté du Québec has made two arrests for the moment. They are Darius Perry and Nackael Hickey, who were accused of complicity and false imprisonment. They must return before the judge at the courthouse this Friday.

In this case, the Sûreté du Québec is also looking for Guillaume Norbert, 36, from Saint-Lazare.
