Maxime Côté-Trudel, a suspect accused of attempted murder on Route 138 last April, has been denied release. The court has decided that he will remain behind bars until the end of his trial.
On the night of April 13 to 14, a man hit by a firearm projectile was found on Route 138, in the Gallix sector, near Sept-Îles. The victim, who did not die from his injuries, was then taken to the hospital.
On April 16, Maxime Côté-Trudel and a minor were charged with attempted murder with a firearm. The incident was part of a series of violent actions related to a conflict between criminal groups on the Côte-Nord and elsewhere in Quebec.
Maxime Côté-Trudel is expected at the Sept-Îles courthouse on August 7 for the orientation and declaration phase.
