This rapprochement was desired by both sides, particularly for reasons of consolidating resources, human, material and financial, and strengthening fire protection services in the territory served.

“I am very proud to announce this partnership with the Régie. By partnering with it, we demonstrate our commitment to providing our citizens with fire safety services of the highest quality, while ensuring rigorous management of public funds.”

– Frédéric Galantai, mayor of La Prairie

The Laprair administration maintains that by joining the Régie, the City will thus be able to have:

– Emergency services coverage available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week;

– Optimization of operating costs through the pooling of human and material resources;

– Eligibility for government subsidies for the construction of a new barracks on the city’s territory, an opportunity that would not have been possible without a regrouping;

– Access to a regional training center offering continuing education programs;

– A stabilization of personnel movement and a reduction in the labor shortage.

From 2025, the Régie will serve the following territories: Saint-Constant, Sainte-Catherine, Candiac, La Prairie, and Delson.
