1 “Crowd”, a dive into a rave party

Mimos will welcome, from Wednesday July 3rd in the evening, a figure of contemporary dance: Gisèle Vienne, Franco-Austrian choreographer who will present “Crowd” (the crowd). This piece, created in 2017, has become a classic of her repertoire. It brings together 15 dancers on a stage transformed into a wasteland, strewn with remains of a party, a rave party still in progress. Little by little, the characters assert themselves, share their stories and their emotions, against a backdrop of electronic music and movement effects. It is an aesthetic shock and an invitation to live with more intensity. At 8 p.m. at the Theater. From 10 to 20 euros.

2 “Little Red Riding Hood”

The duo of Little Red Riding Hood and the wolf.

Charles Zang

“Little Red Riding Hood” is a legendary show. Created in 1999 by the Périgord director Florence Lavaud, it was awarded the Molière for best show for young audiences seven years later. It toured for over fifteen years, as far as Brazil and Ukraine. It has just been revived with a new team. Jérémy Barbier d’Hiver, a regular with the company, plays the wolf and Alice Rende, actress and acrobat, plays the Chaperon. This visual tale, treated in oppositions of shadows and lights, red and black, still speaks to today’s audiences. Friday 5 and Saturday 6 July, at 6 p.m., at the Palace.

3 “Resiste”, a musical tightrope walker show

The spectacular “Resist”, on a high wire.

DR

Johanne Humblet, tightrope walker from the Filles du Renard Pale company, will make a highly anticipated return to Mimos. Her show, scheduled for 2023 at the Parc de Vesunna, had been cancelled due to a storm. She will be there in “Résiste”. She will perform at great height on a wire, which she will make unstable to make the performance more difficult, and will be accompanied on dry land by a live singer. Friday, July 5 at 10 p.m. 10 and 8 euros.

4 Dracula with puppets

Yngvild Aspell, the host of the Plexus solaire company, stages the myth of Dracula with life-size puppets. She invents and animates fascinating creatures in a macabre ballet with a refined aesthetic. And she adds a personal touch. Her show, entitled “Dracula-Lucy’s Dream”, is a feminist variation of Bram Stoker’s story. She gives the lead role to the first British victim of the vampire, Lucy Westenra, and echoes the issue of violence against women. Saturday at 8 p.m. at the Theater. From 10 to 20 euros.

5 The Horde on the facades

The acrobats of La Horde dans les pavés take over the balconies and facades of buildings.

Olivier Bourreau

Specialists in climbing on buildings, the Franco-Swiss collective La Horde dans les pavés will give a walkabout entitled “Impact d’une course (Mimos) X Stadium”, in the Mondoux district. It is regrettable that the company did not have the permission of the owners to perform in the city center. The 12 acrobats and musicians will perform feats on the facades and roofs, in a choreography that is part circus and part dance. Saturday, July 6 at 6:30 p.m. and Sunday, July 7 at 3 p.m. (and not at 6:30 p.m. as previously announced). Free.
