Marc Lavoie will be on the show La Poule auxoeufs d’or, which will be broadcast this Sunday 1is December. As this is the Pay It Forward edition, Loto-Québec will donate the same amount to the organization it has chosen, the Baie-Saint-Paul Hospital Foundation.

A minimum of $10,000 will be awarded. The maximum amount for an organization is set at $100,000.

The decision was not difficult to make for the resident of Petite-Rivière-Saint-François.

“I have come here very often due to certain health problems. I have always been well looked after. I bought two tickets from Maxi for $5. At first, the cashier only gave me one and I told her no, I want two. I returned home. I started to scratch my ticket and saw three TVs. I was happy, I called my daughter Marie-Josée to tell her,” underlines Mr. Lavoie.

The ticket was purchased in June. At that time, the winner did not know that he or she could help an organization at the same time. There are only two shows per year that allow this to be done.

Mr. Lavoie wanted to help people living with mental health problems. An innovative project in this area could be developed thanks to the initiative of doctors. It remains embryonic for the moment. More precise details may be revealed later.

“For us, it is an incredible opportunity to have this gift,” comments the president of the Foundation, Sandrine Tremblay.

“It’s really a great recognition for our team that you chose us and that you believe in what we do. You are grateful for our work, for the entire team it means a lot to us,” says Dr. Marie-Ève Goedike.

Filming will take place on November 27. Eight people will accompany Mr. Lavoie, including his wife and daughter as well as the president of the Foundation, Sandrine Tremblay.

“I already know I’m going to get egg number 22 because it’s my birthday January 22nd. I’m going to be 86 years old. If there is $40,000 in the envelope, I will keep it instead of taking the egg,” adds Mr. Lavoie.

He will perhaps be influenced by those close to him to choose the egg, especially since a big prize is at stake. The show will be broadcast at 5:30 p.m. on 1is December on TVA.
